2007 Green Lake Milk Carton Derby Starts Seafair Festivities

Summer is here and it’s Seafair time in Seattle. The Green Lake Milk Carton Derby, this year sponsored by Allstate, was again the official opener for the celebration. It was a full day of crazy craft races and lots of other family activities, and nearly100 boaters competed for a share of $10,000 prize money. The Seattle Humane Society held a Canine Fashion Show at 11:00 a.m., and other activities like petting zoo, the Sea Gals & Blitz, face painting, magic show, bounce house, Dragon Boat Races, and booths offering food and entertainment kept the fun going. Water quality is key to the enjoyment of Green Lake’s popular activities, and the water is clean and clear, thanks to the alum treatment.
