Chairman Gayle Garman wrote a letter to Chuck Clarke, Director of Seattle Public Utilities about the grate on the Densmore drain outlet that was popping off with each heavy downpour. The displaced drain cover was dangerous to Park goers, especially children. In response to Gayle’s letter, the grate was secured with ropes right away, and has now been permanently secured. Observers should contact Frank McDonald, Manager of Drainage and Wastewater Assets (206-386-1838) if the grate is ever displaced again.
