Rob Z chaired the meeting.

RZ began with a slide presentation describing the FLOATING WETLANDS PROJECT, which just won a $50,000 grant from the Neighborhood Matching Fund! See related but outdated information posted at: Floating Wetlands

Three sites for the wetlands were considered, one in what is commonly known as Little Cove located west of Duck Island, one near the Densmore drain outfall in the northwest portion of the lake, and one near the T dock in the northeast portion of the lake. Also discussed was the design and location of onshore information signs describing the floating wetlands.

The project leadership team met the previous week and is currently finalizing the conceptual design and preparing vendor bid specifications for procurement of the wetlands.

The FOGL members were very supportive of the project and unanimously approved granting $15,000.00 from the FOGL treasury, to support the FLOATING WETLANDS PROJECT.

Additional business was discussion about Seattle Department of Transportation and Parks Departments planning for providing bike lane modifications and additions to routes on the West side of the park and on nearby streets, e.g. Linden Ave N and Aurora Ave N.

Treasurer’s Report presented by KS.

Next meeting will be on January 25, 2022.

Brian DeLuca, FOGL Recording Secretary
