- Monitoring – Monitoring is done every two weeks including temperature, secchi disk, and water sampling. Water samples are sent to King County. Recently, a motorcycle was retrieved off the fishing dock.

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM.
The first item discussed was the Cross Lake Swim on June 24th. Linda and Kris will be there to set things up. More discussion followed later in the meeting.
There was a proposal to plant native vegetation to replace the blackberries which were pulled by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Gayle suggests that we not go for the proposal since it would require a three-year plan of maintenance.

The meeting was called to order by Gayle Garman at 7:05pm.
PROGRAM: The Green Lake Park Vegetation Management Plan by Don Allen
Don explained that he had had computer problems, so the presentation would be limited. Rose Ellen Brittenham is the chief gardener for the Vegetation Management Plan, which was set up in 1996. There has been general cleanup going on including the removal of invasive plants such as ivy and blackberry, and erosion control measures added in some areas along the lake shore. The cottonwoods at Gaines Point were cut and replaced since these trees were brittle and dangerous to park visitors. Some cypress were pruned to reduce limb drop.

There wasn?t any meeting in July because most officers were out of town.
TREASURERS REPORT– Marcia Norman and Mary Lou Knox were absent. $364.00 in Savings, $1,207 in checking. $250.00 was received from Michael Cornell. T-shirt sales were about $300.00 from the cross-Lake Swim on June 24. 7/1 Milk Carton Boat Race sales – $315.00 ( T-shirts and donations).
FOGL needs to get certified by the IRS as a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation so donors can deduct donations from their federal taxes. Also, some employers will give a matching donation, if we can provide the IRS certification. Gayle noted we are working with Green Lake Community Council on this, because FOGL is a subcommittee of GLCC.

Pre-agenda comments included information that bacteria counts in the Lake are low and water temperature is 65F. Secchi disk depth is improved after the alum treatment.
